Site profile:

The Vidlin Voe site is Europe's largest cod farm, with an annual production of 1500 tonnes. Cod ( ), aquaculture is radidly developing and its importance as a cultured species will undoubtedly increase.

The ECASA site on Shetland is Vidlin Voe located to the east on the mainland.

The field work at Vidlin Voe was carried out by the Scottish Association for Marine Science , (SAMS), the ECASA Coordinator. SAMS are also studying this site as part of a three year cod farming project. For more information go to www.sams.ac.uk
